About
melonDS set out to emulate the DS properly rather than fast, and ended up both. It handles the quirks older emulators faked, supports DSi mode, and does local wireless multiplayer between instances plus online play through its Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection replacement support.
No games are included. DS mode works with the built-in free firmware; DSi mode needs the firmware and NAND dumped from your own console.

What you need
The emulator contains none of this. It comes from hardware you own and stays on your machine.
ROM dumps of your own cartridges
Dumped from cartridges you own. For DSi mode you also need the BIOS, firmware and NAND dumped from your own DSi.
Setup

Extract the archive and open melonDS.
- 2
Choose File, then Open ROM, and pick a dump of a cartridge you own.

For DSi titles, point Config, Emu settings, DSi mode at the files dumped from your own console.
