About
mGBA is the Game Boy Advance emulator most other projects measure themselves against. It is accurate enough for development work, light enough for a decade-old laptop, and ships with save states, fast forward, cheat support, link cable emulation and a debugger.
It contains no games. You load ROM dumps of your own cartridges. A BIOS dump from your own console is optional and only changes the boot animation and a few edge cases.
- Highly accurate GBA, GBC and GB emulation
- Runs well on low-end hardware
- Save states, rewind, fast forward and cheats
- Local link cable and Game Boy Printer emulation
- Shader and upscaling support
What you need
The emulator contains none of this. It comes from hardware you own and stays on your machine.
ROM dumps of your own cartridges
Dumped from cartridges you own. A GBA BIOS dumped from your own console is optional.
Setup
- 1
Extract the archive (or run the installer) and open mGBA.
- 2
Choose File, then Load ROM, and pick a dump of a cartridge you own.
- 3
Optionally point Tools, Settings, BIOS at a BIOS dumped from your own console.
