Halo 3
This project does not publish its source code.
The download below is still the project's own release, pinned to a SHA-256 you can check, so you can be sure you have the file they published. What nobody outside the project can do is read what that file does. Treat it the way you would any closed-source program from a community you trust, and keep your own backups of anything it touches.

About
Project Reclaimer is a standalone client for Halo 3 multiplayer built on the Master Chief Collection's own files. It lifts the player cap far past the original sixteen, with custom games up to 64 players, runs dedicated servers on Windows and Linux with voting playlists, supports four-player split screen over the internet, and loads mods.
It includes no game files; every player needs Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam with Halo 3 campaign and multiplayer installed. The project publishes only binaries, so it carries an Unaudited badge here: the download is pinned to the hash the project published, but nobody outside the project can review the code. Versions must match between players and servers, so expect to update when the server you play on does.
- Custom games with up to 64 players
- Dedicated servers on Windows and Linux with voting playlists
- Four-player split screen over the internet
- Mod support
- Publishes SHA-256 sums for every release
What you need
The port contains none of the game. These come from your own copy and stay on your machine.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam, with Halo 3 installed
Your own Steam copy, with both the Halo 3 campaign and multiplayer components installed. The client reads the game from that installation and ships nothing of its own.
Setup
- 1
Install Halo: The Master Chief Collection from Steam and make sure Halo 3 campaign and multiplayer are both installed.
- 2
Download the client executable and confirm its hash matches the one shown here (the project also publishes SHA256SUMS.txt with each release).
- 3
Double-click the client to start the game and browse servers.
- 4
Keep the client on the same version as the servers you play on; a mismatched version cannot join.
